Twenty-two months, newest first, one row per message. The gaps are honest: nothing went out unless a line on the bench did something I had to explain to myself in writing.

  1. #9 2026-10-10 CAN Two nodes at 1 Mbit/s that sampled the bit in different places
  2. #8 2026-09-28 CAN A 95-metre trunk that went quiet when I pulled one 120 Ω resistor
  3. #7 2026-08-05 I²C A sensor that held the clock low for 1.4 ms
  4. #6 2026-06-11 UART Two boards agreed at 9600 and argued at 115200
  5. #5 2026-03-02 I²C 310 pF of bus capacitance, and the rise time I kept ignoring
  6. #4 2025-11-19 RS-485 Four hundred metres between two buildings, and the ground that was not one
  7. #3 2025-09-16 SPI A SPI daisy chain where the last word came back short
  8. #2 2025-07-08 SPI A mode mismatch reads like a one-bit shift, not like noise
  9. #1 2024-12-14 instruments My logic analyser lied to me for an afternoon

The year the cadence settled: two CAN posts bracketing the summer, both I²C failure modes, and the UART divider table that gets quoted back at me most often.

2025 · two messages

Both SPI write-ups and the long RS-485 line - the year everything that broke was differential or depended on a mode bit nobody had checked.

2024 · one message

A single post, written as an apology to myself for four hours wasted on an instrument artefact, which turned out to be the right way to open an archive.
